I rarely hand out a really low score, but sometimes the truth is the truth—and Fat Rack BBQ in Cody was a rough one.
Let’s just get to it: 3/10 at best.

The brisket was dry and flavorless, lacking both the seasoning and smoke that give good BBQ its soul. And the ribs? Just as disappointing—bland, forgettable, and hard to finish. I kept hoping for a bite to redeem the tray, but it never came.
To be fair, this isn’t Texas, and it showed. BBQ means different things in different places, but even adjusting for that, the basics just weren’t there—no bark, no bold flavor, no real identity to the meat.

Final Thoughts
I wanted to like this place, especially with a name like Fat Rack. But unless you’re in a pinch and BBQ is the only thing around, this one’s a pass. Not every spot outside of Texas struggles with BBQ, but sadly, this one definitely did.
