Ryokan Stay – Fuji Onsenji Yumedono – Mt Fuji, Japan

After arriving at the Ryokan where were greeted in true Japanese style, we removed our shows and entered the Ryokan, which had not been changed in many many years.

When we arrived they served us some soup and a dumpling and provided us with Komono’s to wear, I am 6ft 4 so it was challenging.

Once we all dressed in our traditional kimono we were set for dinner, the menu had around 25 courses and it was a true ceremony from start to finish. I have listed all the courses below.

The picture below shows the whole table laid out.

Just watching the care and attention to detail of the meal being put together was fantastic and a MUST for anyone.

We did take some video of some of the dishes, one in particular was cooking the wagyu steak on a hot stone.

Once we had finished dinner we got to rest in the natural spring outside with some lovely tea served to us. I cannot say how good this experience was, truly a treat and we were excited to of had the chance.
