This was number 186 different BBQ places I have visited. So having read some reviews recently in the Top 50 Dallas listing and the fact they reached a recent final I was super excited to go and taste this BBQ. Having negotiated the crazy roadworks we found our place. I was surprised there was no line as it was Sat around 2pm.
I approached the counter to see the usual BBQ listing of brisket etc but then I saw ‘Brakes’ – I had to try these for the first time.
So I had heard that they do something called ‘Brakes’ which is the tail/bone end of a rib, used as a low end cooking meat from days gone by, I saw them on the menu… yes. Sadly I was disappointed in these.
So I ordered my usual 1/2lb extra moist brisket, 1/2lb sausage and beans, but again it was a little disappointing. The brisket was a little dry in my opinion. I rated it about a 3.5/5 and did not live up to the hype.
