BBQ#149 – 5 BarBQ – Celina, Texas

You would not find this by chance, it is off the beaten track and a friend of a friend recommended, I had high hopes which were dashed as we arrived. I could smell gasoline rather than wood smoke in my opinion. This was there opening day and they have a lot to learn but the basics are there for sure. The brisket was not the highest quality meat and it had dried out quite a lot which was a shame. The fat layer was not tasty but the rub was decent. The Ribs needed more time as they were bordering on uncooked really. The sausage was just sausage, not much smoke in there. I will revisit after a few months as they will be up and running at full pace hopefully.
